I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
